Meet Renato Palavecino here
Renato comes from Argentina and works in Jena at IAD GmbH as an IT trainer and consultant. He has previously worked as a freelancer at IAD GmbH. In the interview, Renato tells us about his experiences in Jena and the support his employer offers regarding the challenges that working life in Germany entails.
Dear Renato, where are you from and what brought you to Jena?
I come from Argentina, more precisely from the state of Jujuy. I came to Jena for my studies and for my personal development.
What do you like most about your company and your work?
I particularly appreciate the opportunities for personal development that IAD GmbH offers me. I also really like the working atmosphere.
What challenges did you face when arriving in Jena and/or onboarding at the company? How were you able to overcome these challenges?
In the meantime, I have been living in Germany for more than eleven years. Fortunately, I didn’t have any major difficulties upon arrival. I also got through the initial training at IAD GmbH well, as I had already worked for the company as a freelancer for six months before I was hired.
What has your company been particularly good at supporting you with?
The support was great for me personally! I had enough preparation time and the freedom I needed to freely shape the content of my work.
What are the biggest differences in your daily work and life between your home and Jena?
As a father, I have to say that work flexibility is the biggest factor. I would not have had felxibility to the same extent in my home country.
What is typically German / typically Jena for you?
For me, punctuality and reliability are typically German.
