Job search after successful completion of studies

After successfully completing their studies, foreigners can have their residence permit extended for up to 18 months in order to look for a job appropriate to their degree, provided that it can be filled by foreigners. The residence permit entitles the holder to pursue gainful employment during this period.

After the successful completion of qualified vocational training, the residence permit may be extended for up to one year for the purpose of seeking a job appropriate to this qualification, provided that it may be filled by foreigners. The residence permit entitles the holder to pursue gainful employment during this period.

Die Ausländerbehörde der Stadt Jena hat ihre Bearbeitungsabläufe umgestellt. Um die Wartezeiten auf Termine und Aufenthaltstitel zu verkürzen, werden zukünftig alle Anträge ohne persönliche Vorsprache geprüft. Daher ist keine Buchung eines persönlichen Vorsprachetermins mehr nötig.
