Permission for property access

Most citizens wish to be able to access their property by car. If the property is adjacent to a public road or public path, permission is often required from the road owner (road administration as the road construction authority).

on a road that serves to provide access to the adjoining properties, access roads to properties are for the use of adjoining residents and therefore do not constitute special use (but increased public use). In most cases, it is necessary to modify the public road traffic facilities, for example because kerbs need to be lowered or the type and thickness of the existing paving is not permanently suitable for driving over. This is stipulated in a decision.

A written application must be submitted with a detailed site plan.

the driveway is a special use (§§ 18, 22 Thuringian Road Act). An application must be submitted for permission to create a property entrance and exit. After examination and approval, a special use permit is issued on revocation.
