Requirements

Training assistance is granted for attendance of:

• Vocational schools and technical school classes whose attendance does not require completed vocational training, provided that they impart a vocational qualification in a course of education lasting at least two years,
• technical and secondary school classes whose attendance requires completed vocational training, evening secondary schools, postgraduate vocational schools, evening secondary schools, evening grammar schools and colleges.

For secondary general schools and vocational colleges, including classes of all forms of basic vocational training, from grade 10 onwards, as well as classes of technical and vocational colleges whose attendance does not require completed vocational training, training assistance is granted only under the following conditions:

The trainee does not live with his/her parents and

• a corresponding reasonable training institution cannot be reached from the parents' home,
• runs his/her own household and is or was married, or
• runs his/her own household and lives with at least one child.

The application for an education grant can be combined with personal counselling.

Proofs for the application (in copy)

• Proof of income of the parents
• Tax assessment notice(s) from the calendar year before last or proof(s) of receipt of social benefits (e.g. ALG I, ALG II, housing benefit, etc.)
• If no tax assessment notice(s) is/are available: electronic income tax certificate(s)
