Tasks

1. Prevention and control of communicable diseases in accordance with the IfSG as a sovereign task
2. Vaccinations in accordance with STIKO recommendations, vaccination advice, advice on travel vaccinations
3. HIV testing, testing for other sexually transmitted diseases and advice on prophylaxis and infection prevention
4. Initiation of measures to prevent and spread tuberculosis diseases
5. Infection hygiene monitoring of communal facilities and accommodation (hygiene testing)
6. Infection hygiene monitoring of hotels and youth facilities
7. Monitoring and control of drinking water quality in the context of markets and major events
8. Monitoring and control of drinking water quality including water extraction and supply facilities in accordance with IfSG and TrinkwasserVO (drinking water testing)
9. Monitoring and inspection of water quality and facilities in swimming pools and bathing waters
10. Monitoring and inspection of wastewater facilities, waste disposal facilities
11. Monitoring of funeral and cemetery facilities
12. Advice on indoor hygiene
13. Health assessment of environmental influences, including processing of public complaints, advice and information
14. Recording, evaluation and reporting of epidemiologically significant events and biological hazards, emergency response measures in the context of disaster control
15. Infection hygiene monitoring and advice for hospitals, outpatient surgery facilities, dialysis facilities, day clinics, maternity facilities, blood donation facilities
16. Infection hygiene monitoring and advice for inpatient care facilities and outpatient care services, alternative practitioners, podiatrists, cosmetic foot care facilities and tattoo studios
17. Infection hygiene monitoring of prostitution establishments
18. Information and advice sessions on STI transmission routes
19. Initial instruction for a fee in accordance with Section 43 IfSG (persons who produce food on a commercial basis)
20. Establishment of the MRE network working group in Jena and coordination of networking in accordance with Section 13 ThürmedHygVO
