Current design trends in the automotive industry show that lighting design is playing an increasingly important role in the individualization of vehicles - in the vehicle interior and on the exterior. This is because light can help us to experience greater safety, well-being and communication on the road. Last but not least, thanks to light and lighting technologies, car brands are also becoming increasingly differentiated from one another - and a technology from Jenoptik plays a special role in this.
A wide variety of components are fitted with light sources to illuminate the finest structures and geometries, logos and lines. The intricate light designs are created by partially removing the opaque paint from the illuminated plastic components. A powerful laser is used instead of abrasive mechanical tools.
Precisely this advantage can also be used for the prototype production of car tires . Instead of carving a prototype by hand in around a week, our "JENscan® Tire" only needs a few hours to produce the profile of the tire by laser.
