Used textiles

Kommunalservice Jena operates a comprehensive collection system for used textiles and shoes.

The orange containers are located at the collection points for glass and at the recycling centers.

The proceeds from the recycling of used textiles flow into the city of Jena's fee budget and thus benefit the residents. Alternatively, old clothes can also be handed in to the clothing banks of charitable organizations.

You can put used clothing and household textiles in the bins:

  • Blankets, scarves, fabrics, curtains, comforters, pillows, bed and table linen, towels, handbags and pairs of shoes.


Please only throw in clean and dry textiles, packed in bags and sealed!

  • Textiles (rags) and shoes that can no longer be used will be disposed of with the Residual waste.
