Guided tour of the North Cemetery

On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, the KSJ invites you to a special cultural and cemetery history tour at the North Cemetery, Hufelandweg 4, at 5:00 pm. The meeting point is the flower store at the entrance to the cemetery. The two-hour event will be led by renowned cultural scientist Dr. Barbara Happe and cemetery director Bertram Flößner.

This exclusive tour offers participants the opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of the North Cemetery, which has been in existence for 135 years. Dr. Happe and Mr. Flößner will guide you through the history of the cemetery and burial culture, explaining the changes from the end of the 19th century to the present day. Participants will learn more about the historical development of burial rites, the architectural features of the cemetery and the cultural traditions that have changed over the decades.
