Nachdem ein Auto, welches unter Ihrem Namen läuft, Außerbetrieb gesetzt wurde, bleibt die Betriebserlaubnis des Fahrzeugs weiter erhalten. Deshalb können Sie Ihr kfz jederzeit mit den bereits vorhandenen Fahrzeugpapieren wieder zulassen.
Eine neue Hauptuntersuchung (z. B. TÜV) ist nur dann notwendig, wenn die zuletzt festgelegt Untersuchungsfrist im Zeitraum der Stilllegung abgelaufen ist.

Deregistration period longer than 7 years
The vehicle data is only kept in the Central Vehicle Register for 7 years after the vehicle has been taken out of service. If a vehicle is to be re-registered after this period and the associated data can no longer be retrieved from the KBA and no vehicle registration certificate or certificate of registration can be presented, the vehicle must undergo an individual type approval procedure.

Document issue - without an appointment
Documents that have already been applied for and are now ready for collection (passport, ID card and eID card as well as documents from the driving license authority) can be collected from reception during opening hours without an appointment.
Other requests with an appointment
An appointment must be booked for personal visits for other matters. This can be done online or by telephone.

The registration authority uses special adhesive seals with special security features for the vehicle documents. This increases the total fees by € 0.30 per adhesive seal used.
