Thuringian geology - rock identification under the microscope

Visitors are presented with the geological development and present-day geology of Thuringia. Drill cores and rock samples are available and can be determined and examined independently and under supervision. With the help of prepared thin sections of rock, minerals can be identified under the microscope, making it possible to understand the formation of rocks, for example. If you wish, you can also bring your own rock samples, which can be identified together.
