This will certainly be the most cinematic moment of this year's filmarena: more sand than in DUNE 2, more motorized action than in FERRARI, more absurd fantasy than in POOR THINGS and more Ripley than in ALIEN.

In 2015, director George Miller created an apocalyptic road movie with MAD MAX: FURY ROAD that was a complete surprise. Actually, this film was simple in its narrative: a chase first in one direction and then back again. Through the dessert. But this end-time desert world is exhilarating. And discovering it is what makes the film special: the many details and ideas. And then there are all the absurd characters and this huge action from various motorized chassis. It's hard to get enough of it. And everything looks damn good, whether close-up or long shot. The mix of real stunt action, real visual effects and digital CGI is simply fantastic.

For all women (and especially fans of Tank Girl) it must be noted that this genuinely male genre film about the actual main character Max was already quite feminist at the time. And now MAD MAX: FURIOSA is coming to cinemas. We have no idea at this point what kind of film this will be. But the story about young Furiosa, played by starlet Anya Taylor-Joy with the crass voice and the huge eyes, has to be seen on big screen. This film will manage to thrill and take audiences into a world that doesn't exist, where things happen that you don't see anywhere else and where a Furiosa will simply blow everyone away.
