Parking space

There are various parking facilities available in Jena. The municipal parking areas are managed by Kommunalservice Jena.

Other parking spaces are privately operated, e.g. parking lots and parking garages of other operators.

Tasks

The management of municipal parking areas includes

  • cleaning, clearing and maintenance of the parking areas
  • regular maintenance and servicing of the parking ticket machines
  • the parking guidance system

The daily utilization of the parking spaces is 70 - 90 %.

Please note when using it:

Obligation to pay

The parking areas are subject to charges Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Parking is free of charge on Sundays and public holidays.

Exceptions

The parking areas at Westbahnhof and Paradiesbahnhof are chargeable from Monday to Sunday from midnight to midnight.
The parking area 'Am Gries' is chargeable Monday to Friday 8 am - 6 pm. Parking is free on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.


Payment options

In the parking lots: Am Anger, Eichplatz, Haeckelplatz, Seidelparkplatz, Sophienstraße and Rathausgasse/Schloßgasse, Westbahnhof, Paradisbahnhof, Busbahnhof, Bachstraße, Am Gries, Grietgasse and Fuchsturm, payment by EC card or credit card is possible.
In all metered parking areas, it is possible to book and pay for parking time using a cell phone app or the telephone number provided.


Parking ticket machine

All parking ticket machines accept coins from 5 cents upwards, but do not give change.


In case of malfunctions

Follow the instructions on the parking ticket machine. If this does not solve the problem, please call 03641 4989-376.

The parking guidance system

For some parking spaces in the city center, you can see which spaces are currently available. This service is provided as part of the existing parking guidance system.
