Pollutants

Hazardous substances/special waste is waste that is particularly hazardous to health, air or water, explosive or flammable due to its type, nature and quantity or that may contain pathogens that cause communicable diseases.

Hazardous waste must not be disposed of in the residual waste garbage can!

Special treatment is required for its disposal. According to the Thuringian Waste Management and Contaminated Sites Act, the city of Jena, as the public waste disposal authority, is responsible for collecting small quantities of hazardous waste from households, small businesses and service facilities.

On behalf of the city, we collect, sort, label and package the hazardous waste for transportation. Recycling and professional disposal is carried out by a qualified company.
