Meet Abel Gebreysus, Dmytro Stepasiuk und Rafal Zbonik
Abel Gebreysus
“My name is Abel Gebreysus and I work as a machining technician at QSIL Metals. I come from Eritrea and came to Hermsdorf for my training and work. What I particularly like about my work is that I have nice, friendly colleagues and my work always offers me new challenges and interesting tasks.
In the beginning, my colleagues had little experience with foreigners in the workplace. Over time, however, they became more confident in interacting with me and my German also improved. QSIL also supported me well here: with additional tuition in the foreign language during my training. My tips for settling in as quickly as possible in Hermsdorf are therefore to learn the language and socialise with the locals, for example by joining clubs.”
Dmytro Stepasiuk
“My name is Dmytro Stepasiuk and I come from the ukraine. I work as a technician at QSIL in Hermsdorf. I came to Germany because of my aunt, as her brother-in-law helped me to find a job here. I had two big challenges when I arrived here: It was very difficult for me to learn the German language and to find a flat. However, I have settled in well and like the flexible working hours, my varied tasks and the good working atmosphere. My company helped me integrate and my boss was always very understanding when I had problems with the language.”
Rafal Zbonik
“I’m Rafal Zbonik from Poland. I work as a production manager at QSIL and my company gave me a lot of support when I arrived here. Especially when it comes to written or formal matters and my German isn’t good enough yet. I really like the fact that everything is better organised here, working standards are higher and employees are treated and paid better than in my home country. I don’t believe in stereotypes. Everyone is different and there shouldn’t be any stereotypes.”
