Jena presented itself at EXPO REAL
Investment location as guest at Europe's largest real estate and investor trade fair in Munich
Last week, Jena presented itself as a business location at EXPO REAL in Munich. The largest European trade fair for commercial real estate and investment took place from October 4 to 6, 2023. Jena is part of the joint stand of the European Metropolitan Region of Central Germany. Together, Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Jena mbH (JenaWirtschaft), the Department of Urban Development and Environment and the municipal enterprise Kommunale Immobilien Jena (KIJ) will be presenting current Jena development projects and investment opportunities.
"Jena is the success location in Thuringia and Central Germany. Our dynamic and future-oriented city offers excellent investment opportunities, and we want to show this to decision-makers and visitors at Europe's most important investment fair,"
said Christian Gerlitz, Mayor of Jena and Head of the Department for Urban Development and the Environment.
According to KIJ Head of Land Management Katja Göbel, specific projects that will be presented on site include construction site B of the inner-city Eichplatz and the "Am Oelste" residential area:
"With a future-oriented development, the Eichplatz area is to be transformed into an attractive and lively center of Jena. Following the successful award of the first construction site, the focus is now shifting to the development of construction site B. The start of this award procedure is planned for spring 2024."
The tender for the second marketing lot for multi-storey residential buildings in the new "Am Oelste" residential area is also planned for this time. Here, investors will have the opportunity to realize around 130 residential units.
With more than 1,200 companies, cities and regions as well as a varied conference program, EXPO REAL offers an ideal opportunity for networking. This is also appreciated by Markus Henkenmeier, authorized signatory of the Jena Economic Development Agency, who took part in the discussions at the "City Centers of Tomorrow" expert forum:
"We exchange ideas with experts on site about which change processes need to be initiated in city centers today. Among other things, we presented our Stadt Lab Jena project, with which we offer a space in the middle of the city center to test innovative uses and try out business ideas."
Jena presented itself at the joint stand of the European Metropolitan Region of Central Germany in exhibition hall C1, stand 220. On October 5, the Ingeborg Warschke Young Talent Award was also presented at the stand in the presence of Federal Building Minister Klara Geywitz (SPD).
