Trainee induction days at Kommunalservice Jena

Just in time for the start of school, three young people are embarking on an exciting, forward-looking chapter in their lives with the start of their three-year vocational training at Kommunalservice Jena.
The trainees are being trained as industrial clerks, IT specialists and professional drivers.

On Thursday, Uwe Feige, Plant Manager of KSJ, welcomed the new trainees to the start of their training. After a tour of the company, they got to know their trainers over lunch together with HR Manager Beate Wahlmann and Eric Schmidt, who is responsible for Professional education.

The real highlight followed on Friday for all 17 Kommunalservice Jena trainees.

A workshop was organized together with an experienced graffiti artist. The workshop began in the morning with a short introduction to the art of graffiti. The artist explained the basic techniques and approaches to the trainees. The correct handling of the spray cans and the choice of colors were particularly important in order to create harmonious and expressive images.

After the theory, it was straight into practice. The trainees were allowed to try out their skills on discarded advertising tarpaulins and materials from the recycling center. They then sprayed new designs of the KSJ logo in small groups. At the end of the day, three canvases were created depicting the letters KSJ, which will be on display in the Kommunalservice Jena premises as a lasting reminder in future.

There was a pleasant and motivating atmosphere during the workshop. The trainees gave each other tips and supported each other in the implementation of their designs. This collaboration not only fostered the trainees' creative skills, but also their team spirit and sense of togetherness. The trainees used the time together to get to know each other better and exchange experiences. The older year groups told the newcomers about their previous experiences and gave valuable advice on Professional education. This helped to build a bridge between the different year groups, making it easier for the new trainees to get started and strengthening cohesion within the company.
