The "Kamishibai" storytelling theater opens its curtain for the Long Night of Science in Schiller's Garden House. Immerse yourself in Leo Lionni's imaginative world of pictures and experience the story of Frederick the little field mouse.

The storytelling tradition "Kamishibai" (literally paper theater), which originated in Japan, is also called cinema without electricity. Stories are told picture by picture in a wooden frame with two hinged doors.

When the doors slowly open and the first picture appears on the stage, stories like that of Frederick the little mouse come to life.
All the field mice are busy collecting grains, nuts, wheat and straw for the approaching winter. Only Frederick collects sunbeams, colors and words, his supplies for the cold, gray and long winter days. "Close your eyes," said Frederick and climbed onto a large stone. "Now I'm sending you the sun's rays. Can you feel how warm they are yet? Nice and warm and golden."

A warm invitation for guests young and old to be enchanted by the storytelling theater and the children's book classic "Frederick" by Leo Lionni.
