Epigenetic tests enable reliable cancer diagnoses
Human papillomaviruses (HPV) can cause cervical cancer or head and neck tumors. However, precise diagnostics are needed to determine whether HPV-infected people really do have cancer. Oncgnostics GmbH, InfectoGnostics campus partner, has developed a molecular test that enables reliable early detection of cervical cancer.
At the Long Night of Science, visitors will learn how oncgnostics researchers detect epigenetic changes that occur specifically in cancer.
In addition, oncgnostics will give children of all ages the chance to win plush microbes and make their own DNA pendant.
