The mascot 'Freddy' from Science City Jena Basketball uses the match-free period for a visit to the materials yard.
Where do you take old electrical appliances? How do you separate used glass and what happens to the cardboard boxes? Freddy was able to experience a lot and dispose of even more. Watch the video
Does that sound exciting? There are great offers for kindergartens and elementary school on the topics of recycling and waste disposal. Further information on the page: Environmental education
Material flows at the recycling center
The KSJ collects waste separately and controls the respective disposal routes (e.g. reuse, material recycling, thermal recycling, landfilling). All material flows are recorded. They provide information, e.g. on types of quantities, and form the basis for professional disposal and the development of the infrastructure of the recycling centers.
Over 40 different types of waste are now collected separately at the "Löbstedter Straße" recycling center. Around 98% of the waste at the recycling center can be thermally or materially recycled.
