Responsibilities
- Performing all tasks as a lower monument protection authority in accordance with the Thuringian Monument Protection Act
- Processing of applications for monument protection permits, monitoring the implementation of conditions
- Preparation of statements under monument protection law in the context of building applications and civil engineering applications, monitoring of the implementation of conditions
- Preparation of statements under monument protection law for redevelopment applications, urban land-use and construction planning procedures as well as the drafting of draft resolutions for urban planning and development plans
- Specialist support for existing monuments, advising owners on issues relating to monument protection law and monument expertise, public communication
- Advising owners on tax issues and grants / subsidies, reviewing subsidy and tax applications including acceptance and implementation checks
- Development and review of monument preservation tasks and objectives as well as monument preservation plans
- Preparation of monument designations and inventory of existing monuments in cooperation with the Thuringian State Office for Monument Preservation and Archaeology (TLDA), updating the list of monuments
- Enforcement of the preservation of cultural monuments and removal of unlawful measures, regulatory authorities, examination of pre-emptive rights
- Safeguarding archaeological cultural monuments in coordination with the TLDA
- Advice and information for citizens, media, building owners, pupils and students, architects, planners, experts
